Mental health treatment within the Black community is becoming much more acceptable but there are still barriers to accessing care. Whether in outpatient community mental health centers, hospitals, school systems or in private practice, the challenges are usually consistent across treatment settings.
Led by Halcyon Francis, DSW, LCSW-C, this one hour course will attempt to look at two sides of this issue: from a Black social worker’s perspective and from the perspective of clients seeking such therapists.
